Abstract: This paper summarize the achievements and existing problems of CET-4, and try to evaluate the reliability and validity of CET by the statistical data of CET-4 in Jun, 2001 of a certain college. The results show that the Test-retest reliability r=0.673, and Internal Consistency reliability r=0.732, α=0.625. A suggestion was given to add Spoken English Test (SET) in CET, and the Predictive validity was discussed.
