Abstract
In English study, we certainly have run into many words that are close in meaning. Although synonyms are bearing the same meaning and sometimes we can use one word to take place of its synonyms without any change of the meaning or style or collocation, they may still differ in one way or another. If we ignore the differences between the synonyms, we most probably misuse some words. In order to avoid this kind of mistakes, we should understand the discrimination of synonyms. This paper will present the differences between synonyms from four directions: the range and intensity of meaning, the stylistic features, the emotive coloring, and the application.

摘要
在英語學(xué)習(xí)中，我們常常會遇到一些意思相近的詞。盡管同義詞意思相近，使得我們可以用一個詞替換另一個詞而不改變其含義、文體或者它們的搭配，但它們在某些方面仍有區(qū)別。如果我們忽略這些同義詞的差異，我們可能就會用錯一些詞語。為了避免這些錯誤，我們應(yīng)該知道如何辨析同義詞。這篇論文將從詞意的范圍與強度、文體特征、感情色彩、搭配運用四個方面來展示同義詞間的差別。
